The Sunlure SL1018 is a 24 cm, 132 g hybrid swimbait built for pike and musky — with all three tail styles in one set: the fitted paddle tail, a spare paddle section, a single curly tail and a twin curly tail. Inside the Design

• Weighted ABS Head — A rigid, internally weighted head with molded gill plates, prominent eyes and a patterned pike finish. It carries the lure down and forms the fixed front half of the quick-change system.
• Three PVC Tail Sections — Flexible rear sections that clip into the same socket: paddle tail, single curly tail, twin curly tail.
• Quick-Connect Clip — The connecting clip is molded into the tail section: pull the fitted tail, click in a replacement, and check that the connection is fully seated before you cast.
• Two Reinforced 2/0 Treble Hooks — Two belly-mounted trebles come fitted, ready for heavy pike tackle straight out of the box.

Paddle, Curly or Twin?

Paddle tail — search and trigger. The broad tail produces a strong, pulsing kick that pushes water, so it shines on a steady retrieve or a slow roll with occasional pauses. Start here when fish are active, when you are covering new water, or in murky water and low light where vibration matters.

Single curly tail — slow down and stay subtle. The extended tail keeps a steady flutter even at low speeds. Fish it slower — short pulls, jerk-style twitches and longer pauses — for cold water, clear water or pressured fish.

Twin curly tail — fuller silhouette, more movement on the pause. Two soft tail ribbons flutter against each other and keep the lure alive when it slows or drops. Try it when a single tail draws only short strikes, or work it with a lift-and-drop over deeper structure.

Swapping tails changes the rear length and the action, so give each configuration a few casts close to the bank or boat to see how it tracks before you fish it properly.

Where to Fish It

This is a pike and musky bait for heavy tackle: cast it along weed edges and reed lines, over open-water basins and across shallow-to-deep transitions where big predators ambush baitfish. The fitted tail works straight out of the box; the spares let you slow down, speed up or change the silhouette until the fish show you what they want.

The two exposed treble hooks make this a conventional hooked lure, not a weedless design — keep it to weed edges and open lanes rather than the middle of dense snags.

Keep hook points clear of your hands, pull the fitted rear section free, align the spare and press the quick-connect until it seats. Check the connection before each cast, and retire the lure if the clip, socket or surrounding material works loose.
